Jacob MOHR arrived in New York City on 25 June 1847 via the ship "Urania" from the port of Havre, having left
the part of Germany known as Prussia. Born in 1819, he settled in Syracuse and died between 1901-1909. He married G/Jenevieve HESS (born 1844, emigrated from Hesse-Darmstadt in 1865 or 1866, died between 1921 and 1930). Both are buried in Syracuse's Woodlawn Cemetery. They had eight children, four of whom were named
Henry, Eda (or Ada), Anna, and Ernest; the other four may have been named May (or Mae), Franklin, Hazel, and Jacob. Henry Mohr was the father of Justin Mohr, who opened Eastwood Litho, Inc. in 1946.
