Record of will

 

I Ward Stone of Riga in the County of Monroe and State of New York, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say)—

 

First – I give and bequeath unto my beloved mother Charlotte Stone one [glazed?] looking glass – and five dollars in cash—

 

Also unto Oron Stone—my Brother five Dollars on the first day of December for five years—Commencing on the first day of December next

 

Also— To Ira Stone my Brother five Dollars Cash—

 

Also— To Malinda Stone My Sister—One Set of Silver Tea spoons—

 

Also— To Philander Stone my Brother—one fur Cap—and a pair of Gold watch seals—

 

Also—Almira Stone my Sister one silver watch—

 

And Also – to my Mother Charlotte Stone – Philander Stone my Brother Malinda Stone and Almira Stone my two sisters, all my Remaining property whatsoever—after paying all my debts—and charges, to be divided as follows.

 

(That is to say) –

 

My Mother Charlotte Stone – Is to have two shares, to Each of the others one —

 

I do hereby appoint Hubbard Hall of Riga aforesaid my sole Executor of this my last will and testament, hereby Revoking all former wills by me made—

 

In witness whereof—I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty Eighth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine---

Be it Remembered that on the fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty nine Personally appeared in my office, and before me Orrin E. Gibbs Surrogate of the County of Monroe—Joseph Sibley Esq. & Wilson C. Davis who being duly sworn did depose and say—that they saw Ward Stone sign and seal the within written instrument purporting to be the last will and testament of the said Ward Stone

 

That at the time thereof the said Ward Stone was of a sound – disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of the said deponents – And that they, the said deponents, subscribed their names to the said Will, in the presence of, and together with Spencer Crouch – and all, within presence of the Testator as witnesses—

MONROE COUNTY, ss.

 

Be it remembered, That on the fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine personally appeared before me Orrin E. Gibbs Esquire, Surrogate of the county of Monroe, Joseph Sibley Esquire and Wilson C. Davis who being duly sworn, did depose and say, That they the Deponents saw Ward Stone late of the county of Monroe, deceased, sign and seal the written Instrument, then shewn unto them of which the foregoing is a true copy, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of the said Ward Stone, deceased, bearing date the twenty Eighth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine That at the time thereof, the said Ward Stone was of a sound disposing mind and memory, to the best of the knowledge and belief of the Deponents and that they the Deponents and Spencer Crouch subscribed their names as witnesses to the said Will, in the presence of each other, and in the presence of the Testator.

The People of the State of New-York, by the Grace of God Free and Independent:

 

To All to whom these Presents shall Come or may Concern, Send GREETING:

 

KNOW YE, That at Rochester, in the county of Monroe, on the fourteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine before Orrin E. Gibbs Esquire, Surrogate of our said county, the LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of Ward Stone deceased, (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed,) was proved, and is now approved and allowed of by us; and the said deceased having whilst he lived, and at the time of his death, Goods, Chattels, and Credits, within this state, by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will, and the Granting Administration of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels, and Credits, and also, the auditing, allowing, and final discharging the account thereof, doth belong unto us: —The Administration of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, and Credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his Will, is granted unto

 

Hubbard Hall,

 

Executor in the said Will named, he being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, and also, to render a just and true account thereof, when thereunto required.

 

In Testimony Whereof, we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate, to be hereunto affixed. Witness,
